Spot-Lock has changed the way I fish offshore, there is no need to drop anchor and be affected by drift or currents. On a shoot for “The Last Cast” we covered some 800kms circum-navigating Groote Eylandt in remote NT and used Spot-Lock every day chasing sailfish to mangrove jack and everything in between. It’s easy to use and gives plenty of power even on our 2.5 tonne boat. Minn Kota has me catching more fish offshore.

My Minn Kota adds so much versatility to my boats – it gives me the ability to hold over deep pins when deep dropping for swordfish, sneak up on Snapper feeding in the shallows, quietly follow the bait when live-baiting for Marlin… It has bought a whole new dimension to my fishing which I can never again be without!

I thought Minn Kota was limited to shallow water fishing in flat seas or on the lake but I use it in the wind, tide and swell. Even in hundreds of meters of water. I can keep my bow into the sea on the drift, set my course and lock on the spot, I’m really impressed.
